Teacher of the Year
The MCEC Dr. William C. Morse Teacher of the Year Award recognizes a teacher or related service provider who currently provides direct services to students with exceptionalities. The International CEC Clarissa Hug Teacher of the Year is an outstanding member of the profession whose work exemplifies the best in special education teaching. His or her work reflects significant, documented educational success for students, continued professional development, and the highest standards of educational quality.

Stacy Lantzy, Special Education Teacher - Ingham ISD
Stacy Lantzy is a special education teacher in a classroom for students with severe multiple impairments at Heartwood School in Ingham County. Her students range in age from 2.5 to 5 years old. Stacy is passionate, innovative, driven, and committed to making a difference with every student and family that enters her classroom.
Stacy also goes above and beyond her role as a teacher and MOVE trainer. MOVE® combines the individuals’ present abilities with an instructional process during motivational activities to help the individual improve their mobility skills of sitting, standing, walking, and transitioning - leading to improved health, independence, dignity and inclusion of the individual in the family and community.
